The SAR Government is now conducting its second stage of consultation on the healthcare reform, in which a voluntarily-based private insurance scheme is strongly recommended. However, views are divided not only amongst the general public but also medical professionals and the businesses. In a bid to cast light on the discussions, The Professional Commons and Contemporary China Research Project of City University of Hong Kong are co-organizing a symposium to bring practitioners, scholars, trade representatives and government officials together, therefore marshaling arguments of the issue in a multi-faceted manner.
