ITAG 2 workshop:
Freedom and Human Right under the Obscene and Indecent Articles Ordinance
While the Hong Kong celebrities’ internet nude picture scandal has lost its power as media hype and gossip’s topic, its aftermath, however, is preparing to penetrate into the ordinary life of every Hong Kong people in an unnoticed manner. Does the current censorship mechanism towards obscene and indecent material impotent towards the complex reality? Are voices calling for reforming the Obscene and Indecent Ordinance a conservative backlash aiming to restrict the freedom of Hong Kong people?
ITAG2 of the Professional Commons has invited two Obscene Articles Tribunal adjudicators to be our speaks to share their experience as adjudicators and the mechanism they observe in making the classification.
